At PatentFiller, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This Refund Policy outlines when and how you can request a refund for our products and services.

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. All refunds are handled through their platform.

3. Subscription Refunds

3.1 Pro and Professional Plans

14-Day Money-Back Guarantee on new subscriptions (conditions apply)

If you're not satisfied with your Pro or Professional subscription, you can request a refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, provided you have not used any of the included services.

Full Refund Eligibility

A full refund is available if:

  • Request is made within 14 days of purchase
  • No patent exports have been downloaded
  • No prior art searches have been initiated
  • No quality reviews have been run
  • Fewer than 50 AI chat messages have been used

Partial Refund / Pro-Rata

If you have used included services, we may offer:

  • Partial refund: Subscription fee minus the retail value of used services
  • Example: Pro ($99) with 1 export used ($59) = $40 refund possible

⚠️ No refund if the value of used services exceeds the subscription fee.

3.2 Subscription Renewals

For subscription renewals (after the initial billing period):

  • Refunds are generally not provided for renewals
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time to prevent future charges
  • Access continues until the end of your current billing period

3.3 Pause Mode

Instead of cancelling, you can pause your subscription for $5/month. This preserves your data for up to 6 months. Pause payments are non-refundable.

4. One-Time Purchase Refunds

4.1 Patent Export ($59)

Due to the nature of digital document delivery:

  • Refunds are available if the export fails due to technical issues on our end
  • Refunds are not available after successful document download
  • If you experience issues, contact us before downloading

4.2 Prior Art Search ($10)

Prior Art Search purchases are non-refundable once the search has been initiated, as we incur costs from our search providers.

  • Refunds available if search fails to complete
  • Refunds available if no results are returned due to technical error

4.3 Quality Review ($15)

Quality Review purchases are non-refundable once the review has been initiated.

  • Refunds available if review fails to complete due to technical issues

4.4 Chat Message Packs ($3 per 50)

Chat message pack purchases are non-refundable once messages have been used.

  • Unused message packs may be eligible for refund within 30 days

4.5 Project Reopen ($10)

Project reopen purchases are non-refundable once the project has been reopened.

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  1. Email us at info@nextx.ch with:
    • Your account email address
    • Order/transaction ID (from your receipt)
    • Reason for the refund request
  2. Wait for review - We'll respond within 3 business days
  3. Receive refund - Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days

6. Refund Method

Refunds are processed back to the original payment method used for the purchase. This includes:

  • Credit/debit cards: 5-10 business days
  • PayPal: 3-5 business days
  • Other methods: Varies by provider

7. Exceptions

Refunds will not be provided in the following cases:

  • Abuse of the refund policy (e.g., repeated refund requests)
  • Violation of our Terms of Service
  • Chargebacks filed without contacting us first
  • Requests made outside the eligible refund period
  • Services that have been fully rendered

8. Cancellation vs. Refund

⚠️ Cancellation stops future charges. Refund returns money for past charges. These are different requests.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation does not automatically trigger a refund.

9. Disputes

If you disagree with a refund decision, please contact us to discuss. We're committed to finding a fair resolution.

If you file a chargeback with your bank without first contacting us, we may suspend your account pending resolution.
